This is awful. A British teacher, teaching at a private school in Sudan, had the kids in her class pick a name for their class teddy bear. The kids picked "Muhammad" and so the bear was named.

The teacher has been arrested for blasphemy under Sudan's Sharia laws and is probably facing 40 lashes. Hopefully the British consulate can secure her release and she will go home and never go back there again.

Things like this happen all the time, I know that. It's terrible. Important to be cognizant of these things, to remember that our freedom to hold our own beliefs and say them out loud is sacred, was hard-won, and must always be protected.
