I AM: Married, Thirty-Something (or, 29 several times), a Raising-Kids-At-Home Mommy, Self-Employed (recovering MBA), an Objectivist, and I Find Myself Hilarious. That's all ye need to know.
Yes, it is indeed silly -- why on earth would Starbucks reject the phrase "laissez-faire?" I'm really glad that you got yours through, Jenn...someone must have been asleep at the switch!
Sometimes when I pay a buck to get one of those charity things they hang up on the walls and they have you fill in your name, ya know those thingies, well, I write Ayn Rand and make sure they post it clearly. Heh heh heh.

OK so here's the question... is this only on your card or will it be on others' cards, too? either way, it's cool though!
It's just my card, just a one time deal. I honestly didn't think it would go through, so I'm pleasantly surprised.
Why would they object to whatever you want on your own card? That would be silly.

Just a guess, Dave, but I'll bet someone at Starbucks (or their supplier) doesn't have a clue who Ayn Rand is.
